David Meral, Achim Lother (P05) and further CRC1425 colleagues revealed, using single nucleus RNA-sequencing  that heart failure with preserved ejection fraction is linked to a fibroblast trajectory that is distinct from the classical myofibroblast: now published in Circ Res and featured on the issue’s front cover.

CRC1425 researchers have created a detailed cellular atlas showing how the heart repairs itself after a heart attack. Just recently published in Nature Cardiovascular Research, the study reveals how immune cells, especially macrophages, coordinate healing and limit scarring. The findings pave the way for precision therapies that could enhance heart regeneration.

Imaging techniques developed by CRC1425 researchers and colleagues provide insights into cardiac arrhythmias that can trigger sudden cardiac death. The discovered changes could help explain why seemingly healthy individuals are sometimes affected. Now published in Nat Cardiovasc Res.
