Congratulations to our CRC1425 members Franziska Schneider-Warme and Marbely Calderón-Fernández!
Franziska has been honored with the newly established DGK-Medical Scientist Award, which comes with a EUR100,000 grant. Over the next two years, her project STOP-VT – Exploring Strategies for Optogenetic Termination of Ventricular Tachyarrhythmia will systematically compare different light-gated ion channels for their potential to terminate ventricular tachyarrhythmia in healthy, chronically remodelled, and acutely ischemic mouse hearts.
Marbely received a Hans-Jürgen-Bretschneider-poster prize of the Basic Science Meeting for her poster presentation on Electrophysiological Effects of Optogenetic Depolarization of Non-Myocytes After Ventricular Cryo-Ablation, awarded with EUR500.
