Interventional multiparametric MRI for myocardial infarction fingerprinting

Jul 24, 2025

CRC researchers Alexander Maier and Michael Bock (P15) have been awarded with a research grant of € 787,852 by the German Research Foundation (DFG). Bock and Maier will investigate the pathophysiology of myocardial infarction using a human-sized pig model and advanced multiparametric interventional magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), which will be correlated with high-resolution (sub-)cellular read-outs. This research aims to significantly advance the diagnostic potential of clinical MRI and pave the way for the identification of novel therapeutic targets in myocardial infarction treatment. This project is a direct continuation of the P15 project of CRC 1425.
